Dude, I was checking out your blog and noticed the "ink" marks on the screen and almost started to yell at one of the kids for getting my screen all dirty. All that brick making is crazy.

Looking for some input

I am working on some new pieces for my ruined city. I have a bell tower piece in the works.. Its not all glued together, but I do have an image below of what it looks like..

My concern is its too "complete" and will clash to much with all the ruined pieces I have around it. Im trying to decide if I need to do some serious damage to it, before I continue.. I do need to add some more detail and decorative pieces to it, one way or another, but I"m thinking of knocking off about 20% of the top of it, so it looks like its been worn down...

I knew making it, I might do this, but the piece was challenging to assemble, so I wanted to complete it for a sense of accomplishment.

Does anything think it will look "bad" if its too complete next to all the other ruin pieces I've already posted?

Also this piece is just basically one wall with one other small wall on the side.. I will add some rubble to it, but I'm thinking it wouldn't be bad to have a piece or two a little lite on terrain as well.

Any thoughts?

I'd keep it, you can always chissel in some cracks and divets, nock off a couple of sharp edges and make it look like it survived, but just barely.

Wearing around the edges should be fine, even in a ruined city, a few buildings tend to stand still, perhaps cut a quarter off one of the tops and add rubble below that segment. Pulling some of the walls down around it's edge (the outer walls, not the buildings walls) could allow a garden area to fit a forest in if you want some verity in the terrain.

for my two cents I think having a few pieces that are a bit more open is a good idea. Leaves room for some larger infantry or a couple of jacks etc. to really support each other.

I agree that it would look fine with just some worn edges. If you felt it needed something, could you add bullet/rocket holes with burn marks? Like a sniper was in the tower and took fire. Maybe crumble out part of the circle openings and have one of the top points laying on the ground below.

so minor update..

i based the 2 zones... I am going to keep the belltower mostly assembled. I will add some more wear and tear as I get closer to the phase when I start painting the pieces. I will also need to figure out how i'm going to "spruce up" the top part of it with some finishing details.

There's an iconic photo of the ruins of Hiroshima. Amidst the square mile pictured, there's a SINGLE domed building still intact. It's very cool. Leave the tower as is. She's gorgeous!

Another update on my blog. I posted some more pictures. I finally was able to get all the pieces painted black, and started working on and finished my original test piece.
