My current understanding of the rules is that light cavalry are a subset of cavalry so a rule applying to cavalry would also affect light cavalry unless otherwise stated. I'm checking on this because of a theme force benefit that states that non-character cavalry units and solos have their FA increased by 1. I believe this would benefit light cavalry units as well but I'd like to be sure before I bring it to a tournament.

Per the light cavalry description in the book: "Some cavalry models are designated as light cavalry." Because it states some cavalry are light cavalry I believe I'm correct. If it had read some warrior models are light cavalry then they would be separate unit designations.

If it was specific about what cavalry units, it would say in the requirements for the theme force.

light and heavy are a description of Cavalry units
much like how
Rifle corps and Infantry are a description of Winterguard Units.

So if only light cav are to be included, it would say Light Cavalry Units.
